The international conference entitled “The Eastern Partnership Conference: Towards a European Community of Democracy, Prosperity and a Stronger Civil Society” took place in Warsaw on Thursday, 29 September, as an event accompanying the Eastern Partnership summit, which is one of the most important events of the Polish presidency.

The First Eastern Partnership Business Forum (EPBF) was convened as a side event to the Warsaw Summit of the Eastern partnership and in conjunction with the European Forum of New Ideas organized in Sopot, Poland from 28th till 30th September, 2011.

On 11-12 April 2011, in Minsk, on the basis of the National Platform of the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership, the Conference «Role and place of civil society in the strategy of the future» has taken place. It was aimed at discussing the questions of the strategy of public-political forces in Belarus for the nearest period.

Annual meeting of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Working Group 3 “ENVIRONMENT, CLIMATE CHANGE AND ENERGY SECURITY” was held in Kyiv on 23rd June, 2011. It gathered Civil Society Organisations – members of EaP CSF WG3 from the EU and 6 partner countries Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, guests and observers. The meeting was hosted by Ukrainian National Environmental NGO “MAMA-86” and financed by the European Union and co-funded by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

In Minsk, on July, 5th, the conference of the National Platform accepted a list of 31 civil society organizations recommended for participation in the third Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership in Poznań.

Prague, 28 March 2011

More than 60 representatives of Russian and EU civil society organizations gathered in the Czech Foreign Ministry to found an EU-Russia Civil Society Forum. This unique initiative brought together NGOs and activists from across Europe and Russia and sets up a permanent platform for cooperation. The conference was held in Prague on 28 and 29 March 2011.

On June 24-25, 2011 the Expert workshop “Eastern Partnership CSF Working Group 3 assessment of environmental policy reform in 6 partner countries” was conducted in Kyiv.
The expert workshop was financed by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation and co-funded by the European Commission, the European Programme of the International Renaissance Foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv.
